In September 2000, Liang Yufei (to Switzerland), Lu Bingqian (to Germany), Xu Jingjing (to the U.S.A.), Sun Zhen (to the U.S.A) and Tian Jiayan (to Germany), students from WFLMS, were sponsored by AFS Program to spend one year in the designated countries.

     
In June 2001, Ms. Luo Peiming, together with Ms Mu Qiyun, an English teacher, visited Arden School. They had official discussion on establishing link school and enhancing communication between two schools.
     
During the summer vacation in 2001, a large group of students went to Australia for a four-week exchange program.
   
From August,2001 to June, 2002, Ms Mu Qiyun was assigned to work in Arden School to initiate Mandarin course in the neighborhood of the school.
   
In September 2001, Zhao Jian (to the U.S.A.), Cai Haiyan (to Germany) and Li Li (to Switzerland), students of WFLMS, were selected to participate the AFS (America Field Service) Program as to stay in the designated countries for one year.
   
In October 2001, Mr. Xi Shihen, deputy principal, visited schools in Taiwan and Hong Kong, as a member of the educational delegation of Xu Hui District.
 
In February, Ms. Liang Yuhong, a History teacher, attended the training course for English language teachers in University of Maryland. Ms. Liang was honored this opportunity as a reward to her initiation of bilingual teaching experiment in this school.
 
  In May 2002, headed by Ms. Zhu Jianhua, deputy principal, a group of six teachers visited three secondary education institutions in Hong Kong. The group had exposure to bilingual and computer science teaching in the region.
