Since
the first day of the formation of the school's English teaching
pattern, we've always been alert not to follow the traditional
way, which obviously didn't keep up with pace of the modern teaching
methodology. We've always insisted on integrating good points
from different teaching methods, both home and abroad. Based on
the "student-centered" principle, we go all out to seek
students' potential gifts in all our teaching. We emphasize on
developing students' communicative competence and aim at "studying
for the purpose of application". We creatively proposed a
new language-teaching principle: Participation & Practice
(P&P in short) i.e. provide students with an environment of
learning through participation and encourage them to practice
what they learn whenever and wherever possible, thus ensuring
effectiveness of foreign language learning. And we've achieved
greatly by focusing on English lessons, practicing bi-lingual
subject teaching, carrying out a series of extracurricular activities,
which all provided sufficient opportunities for students to practice
English.
