Overseas
Language Teachers: The faculty of English teaching is joined by native speakers who give lessons, as well as lectures about the cultural background of English-speaking countries and their folklores. They also help the school train English and bi-lingual subject teachers. Apart from this, they help develop school-based bi-lingual teaching course materials. |

Language Syllabus: Since the foundation of the school, teachers have set about to formulate a school English teaching syllabus and have never stopped making adjustment to it to keep up with the development in educational reform. The syllabus provides detailed stipulation concerning teaching methodology, principles applied, evaluation tools and curriculum. It lays emphasis on the principle of teaching the language as a social, cultural communicative tool, which aims at reaching an overall development of language ability. As for the teaching material, after a complete research, analysis and advice from some professionals and consultants, the school has selected "Side by Side" as its main course book, which is characterized by authentic pronunciation and intonation, variety in contents and solid language foundation. The school also integrates "New Interchange" and "Oxford English" as supplementary materials. All these materials prove valuable in developing students' basic language skills and enlarge their scope of knowledge as well. |
